CAVIAR

Caviar is technically the roe of the female sturgeon.

The word "caviar" comes from the Persian word "khav-yar" which means "cake of strength" or "cake of power.” 

 

The sturgeon is a two hundred million old fish known as “The Living Fossil.”

Some species of sturgeon can live up to 100 years or more.

Year of 1240 - first written reference to caviar (Batu Khan, Golden Horde).
